ECO SPOOLS (raw wick, without tabs) -The word ECO has no special meaning regarding ECO friendly, its simply in the name. These spools are raw uncoated wick and come without tabs....the wicks are made out of natural fibres and they contain no lead or other harmful metals. The ECO wick has been specially made for natural waxes and being in a raw form (without wax coating) they are suitable for pillar candles only, the reason they are suitable for Pillar Candles only is because in a Container Candle the wick needs rigidity and this is achieved through the wax coating. Often we are asked if you can tab and wax coat the ECO wick and yes this is possible, but from our experience this is not an economical way to produce candles. If you are using ECO wicks to make pillars then it will be necessary to either have the wick threaded through prior to pouring the wax or to use a thin hook and loop to pull the wick through the pillar hole after setting. Finally, with all of our wick recommendations, we advise that your own testing is required as there are simply too many variables for us to guarantee a particular wick size. The best way to see great results is to make a small amount of candles and conduct several test burns, you will then avoid wasting money on the wrong size wicks as it will allow you to test until you have determined the correct wick size,
